CASE STUDY: LOVE HEARTS

THE CLIENT

Swizzels is one of the UK’s leading independent confectionery companies and has been providing its consumers with little bits of heaven since 1928. Love Hearts are its biggest selling brand.

THE CHALLENGE

Consumers love Love Hearts, but feedback suggested the design was becoming a little dated and, with change sweeping the confectionery category, intense competition made it increasingly difficult to catch the eye.

How could we update brand imagery and improve visibility without risking the wrath of the nation?

THE SOLUTION

Iconic is an over-used phrase, but very few products are as readily recognised as the Love Heart. By incorporating the smiling sweetie into the logo, we made the pack even easier to pick out. Tweaking typography and minimising pack clutter completed a simple but effective update.
